About me

I am Runar Svendsen, a web developer / consultant living in Asker, Norway. I do that thing (or those things) I do at Tarantell which is a fine place for any web developer to be. “I get my kicks above the waistline”, meaning I prefer working near the user, as opposed to near the DBA. This is not to say that I don’t enjoy a good    sequel (pun indented), but I generally feel the sites I make are more successful when the user’s happy rather than the DBA..

I dabble in Java during the daytime, after which (kids and wife permitting) I fire up gedit and do my Rails or Perl or PhP stuff.

I am currently developing on Ubuntu Hardy Heron after having experienced the file I/O speeds at which Windows Vista is operating.
